Tasting Australia - Let the Good Times Flow

Two of the world’s best chefs have hand-selected 20+ food producers and 10+ diverse Riverland wines to champion as part of the glorious 30 AprilTasting Australiaevent to be held on the Loxton Riverbank.

We’re excited to announce that this menu includes our very own 2020 Grenache. And because we know that you already love our products, we want you to come along too.

Mark Best (Marque, Netflix’s The Final Table) and Duncan Welgemoed (Africola, Golden Boy) – will use their award-winning skills and techniques to cook up the 5-hour shared dinner of Riverland produce for 300 people, and you could be one of them.

Let the Good Times Flow: A Feast of the Riverland, will be an experience for the senses as the chefs create their interpretation of the region, its community, and all the fun that comes with it. Our Riverland food will be the pinnacle of the event, but it will be prepared in styles you’ve never before experienced, with dishes inspired by Duncan and Mark’s experience from across the globe.

Described by the chefs as a generous evening of “primal” cooking, the first course is served up with a backdrop of the magnificent Murray River on sunset, and the remainder under the stars. People will see an entire beef hindquarter cooked hanging inside a disused rainwater tank, while other elements will pay homage to the Riverland’s history and culture. An MC will entertain the crowd, including a roving mic to chat with chefs, producers and winemakers.

Those attending can expect to dine on anything from native cod, to spit-roasted dorper lamb and steer with smoked ancho. These will be complemented with woodfired Italian breads, caper relish, native river mint, wood-roasted quince, triple cream brie, honeycomb and more. There will be fire pits flanking the riverbank as chefs serve up the continuous feast on long tables.

Ticket prices are $185 and include the full 8-courses of food and drinks (wine, beer inclusive). The event will kick off at 5pm, and wraps up at 10.30pm on the grassed riverfront reserve at Grant Schubert Drive, Loxton.
