Our Family

Michael and Robyn Mason are the elder generation of the Starrs Reach Vineyard partnership and after years of farming and contracting in the wine and agriculture industries, act as mentors and a sounding board for the business.

Michael, inventive in nature and generous with this knowledge, is responsible for building many of the large corporate vineyards in South Australia through parent business Mike Mason Fencing, including those on the four properties that make up the Starrs Reach Vineyard portfolio. Michael has been well known for developing specialised machinery for drilling hard rock and modern vibrating post installers for use in the wine, agricultural and civil industries.

Sheridan, daughter of Robyn and Michael is directly responsible for the strategic direction and management of the Starrs Reach Vineyard portfolio.

The Australian Women in Wine Awards recognised Sheridan as Viticulturalist of the Year in 2019. An Environmental Management graduate of Roseworthy Agricultural College (University of Adelaide), Sheridan is a skilled viticulturist with an integrated pest management focus and as current Chair of Riverland Winegrape Growers Association believes in empowering farmers with a strong voice and better business tools.

Sheridan is also a graduate of the Winemaker’s Federation ‘Future Leaders’ Program. Sheridan’s great passion is the sustainable use of the Murray River and to that extent served as a Board Member with SA Murray Darling Basin Natural Resource Management Board and as Chair of the River Murray Advisory Committee during the last drought period. Knowledgeable and connected she is committed to raising awareness of environmental challenges and opportunities beyond her own backyard.

Craig has also grown up in rural settings, mostly in the Clare Valley region while his family roots lay in wine grape growing in the Barossa Valley. He is mechanically minded with a natural gift for invention and problem-solving. He also has great skill in asset and operations management with a background in equipment sales within the region. He has learnt his farming and land management skills while working on the land.
